About us...

I am an amateur photographer, with a special interest in amazing places, and enjoy every minute of it.

The Outer Hebrides - what a place!!! Its where I grew up, and keep on going back to. Its outdoors has so much to offer. You can climb any hill, fish any loch, and walk along any beach, and you will probably have the place to yourself. The beaches are the best, though a wet suit helps, and are always rather empty.

The hills of North Harris are equally dramatic, from the spectacular Sron Ulladale to the towering slopes of Scourst itself. If you are up to it, you can traverse the thirteen hills that are above 2000 feet, in a day.

As for the rest of the Scottish Highlands, just like the Hebrides, but bigger and busier. Though its quite easy to escape from the crowds, a boat certainly helps.

Jet Noise - I've been lucky to have flown with the RAF (UGSAS), and forever grateful to 4 FTS based at RAF Valley, for giving me so much Hawk flying. A truly amazing experience.

My equipment - I've been fortunate to own a number of Canon cameras over the years. Started off with the EOS 300 (film) before going digital with the 350D, then 20D and currently have a 5D. I now use the following lenses EF 20-35, EF 28-107 and the EF 70-300. As for my boat, its an Avon Rover 3.4, powered by the Yamaha 8hp. Its an amazing inflatable, and so versatile. Easy to launch and get into the wilderness. If you want to see a short video of what it can do, then launch the Quick Time video of Loch Quoich. Alternatively, look for Loch Morar and Loch Quoich within the mainland gallery for more trips with the boat

In the meantime, have a look at my flickr site.
